What to do if girl is not ready to marry after YAADI event
11-Dec-2023 (In Family Law)
Sir, After We both liked each other. We had an event where all family members came from both side and blessed us. In this event we have only exchanged Malaa's on neck. Its was YAADI event (where letter is written by swamiji that Girl and Boy liked each other). Now they are rejecting. We request them nearly 10-15 times. She likes me but her mother forcing her not to marrige. What to do?
Sir, Yaadi event has not helped you in declaring yourself married by your own facts. Marriage in India should be performed either as laid down by the parties customary laws or as prescribed by the Statute/Law (which is popularly known as Marriage by Registration). Letter written by Swamiji is just telling the fact the Girl and Boy liked each other but it is not declaring your Marriage. It is all good and appropriate to get property married as prescribed by Law or Custom.
Now, to answer on the Girl's mother dissent to the said marriage: You will have to convince the Girl to marry you and ask her to stand strong to such marriage even if her mother initiates any complaints against you alleging it to be a forceful marriage. Please do note that both of you, Girl and Boy should have attained the legitimate age to get maried which is 18 years for Girl and 21 years for the Boy.
There is a risk of Criminal Offense on you if the Girl after marrying you gives in for her mother's emotions/enmity against you and lodges complaint against you alleging forceful marriage by you.
Please do not fall in for risky marriage unless you have support and consent of all the elders and well wishers, and above all, absolute faith and confidence in the love and commitment of your lover who is to be your wife.
