Roka been done but does not want to marry

If a person has done the roka but does not want to marry, is there any legal way I have to do so that I can marry someone else? Will it create an issue for the other person if I get married?
A Roka/engagement ceremony by itself does not create a legally valid marriage under Indian law. If no marriage has been solemnized and registered, you are generally free to marry another person. However, if there was any written agreement, exchange of money, gifts, or promises leading to financial loss, the other party may attempt to initiate civil or criminal proceedings depending on the facts and circumstances.
Before taking any step, it is advisable to formally communicate your decision to the other side and retain proof of such communication. If there are disputes regarding gifts, expenses, or allegations of cheating, those issues should be resolved separately.
