Problem related to family inlaws and divorce
18-Apr-2025 (In Family Law)
I'm 17, living with my mother in Kolkata. She's legally married but separated due to domestic issues. We're moving in with a man who treats my mother like his sister and supported us. Can my father or relatives take legal action against us for this arrangement? How can we protect ourselves from potential false allegations or harassment?
He cannot file criminal case as it would be baseless.
But he can use this against your mother during divorce and maintenance case. So the better option would be your mother file a divorce and maintenance case in the first place mentioning that you and your mother lives in a rent and the man is the landlord. And make sure to make a rent agreement. And also mention that your father used to harass your mother while filing divorce and maintenance case
