Parents forcing to give a false statement against my husband
09-Aug-2023 (In Family Law)
I have married a boy in arya samaj (we have certificate). I am 19 years old and the boy is 24. My parents got to know about our relationship but still they are not aware of our marriage. they have given a fake application about the boy that he is blackmailing me and they are forcing me to give a statement against that boy. I am confused that is arya samaj marriage certificate legal ? We don't want to disclose our marriage right now because the boy needs few months to be financially stable. what can I do to save the boy from any legal case? my parents have blocked me from contacting that boy
If Boy and Girl both are of the age of majority then marriage between them in Arya Samaj is valid and such certificate is also valid.
At the time of marriage, you both were of the age of majority, then your marriage in Arya Samaj and the certificate issued by the Arya Samaj, both are valid.
Legally, your parents cannot force you to give evidence against anyone, so forcing you to give evidence against your husband is obviously out of question.
If you want to keep your marriage a secret and unwilling to give evidence against your husband, then you will have to choose one side, either your parents or your husband. Because if you give evidence against your husband, you will loose him. And if you don't give evidence against your husband, you will loose your parents.
To save your husband from any cases, just don't state anything before the Police or before the Court against your husband.
