Need advice regarding love marriage

I am 32 years old woman. I am in a relationship with a guy from 8-9 years now he is 25 now. We both want to marry each other. His parents agree of him marrying me but mine have issues. We have a talk yesterday and he told me in end you want to marry doors are open go yourself but you will never see me again. I will do something it's because of you I am in stress. I can't face relatives or society if you marry him. I have told him I am facing mental stress. Need advice as I am feeling stuck.
