my husband has filed a case against me on the ground of adultery

28-Aug-2023 (In Family Law)
My husband filed a case against me on the ground of adultery and now threatening me to sign a mutual consent otherwise he will spoil my reputation in society. Also asking if I want to stay with him then I have to give all my money to him, will not talk to my parents, leave my job, give all the jewelry items etc etc. I should stay as per his terms and conditions. I can't say No for anything. Please suggest what I do in this case. As he and his family members also created problems for me in early days of my marriage.

No you shouldnt give anything to him because the adultery under ipc brings cause of action for the third person and not for the wife! Under such circumstances you shouldnt react to each and every situation! you should wait for further proceedings in the matter!

i think your husband does not want to live with you or rather live in slavery for him why can't you say no ??? anyway this is not a legal problem if he files a divorce petition under adultery does not mean that your reputation will get spoiled he will also have to prove it and if he cannot you can file other cases against him under criminal laws like domestic violence etc.....and if you want to take a divorce then better take it by mutual consent and if your husband threatens you. You can also file a complaint in the nearest police station.please consult your local lawyer for further advice
