Is it legal to marry another person without divorce ?

Hello, my friend is a Muslim. Her husband has married another woman without divorcing her. She is suffering with rheumatoid arthritis and have a school going son with her currently staying with her parents. He didn't took proper care of her and made conditions such that she left his house and went to her parents a couple of years ago. And he got married after six months from their separation. Currently there's no support of any kind from his end. What could be done legally. Please suggest.

Yes, if it was decided at the time of marriage what procedure will happens at the time when both or one of the spouse wants to separate or otherwise both spouses wants to separate they can apply towards Muslim personal law bored.

She can file maintenance petition for her son and for herself also for all that years she so separated and also for the education of her son and for his future educational expenses and house for them.

She has to file for divorce and claim for maintenance for herself and her child. She has to file case under muslim law and also case for cruelty as she was forced to leave her house by her husband.Her Husband marriage is illegal as he has not divorced first wife.
