Though police don’t directly arrest in cases related to 498a ..in exception cases they need to take permission from DCP to arrest!
If you have any apprehension then you may hire expert advocate u will guide u properly n if required will move your bail application

the arrest is probable because of the sections mentioned herein. however bail can be applied for and if strong case can be made out then even bail is possible. since you asked only about one section, it is advisable to check other sections as well...because the case is not made only on one section but multiple sections are involved here

Section 494 of IPC falls under the category of non-cognizable offences. In which Police can neither register FIR nor investigate or make arrests without proper directions from the court. But the section 498A falls under the category of cognizable offence in which Police can arrest without warrant. For further discussion through consultation please provide the complete details of the case and feel free to contact at any time.

No the police will not arrest this is the judgement of the Supreme Court. But sometimes police doesn't listen to the court in that event you must file for anticipatory bail if you think you could be arrested. feel free to contact me. I may help you in this.
