Intensity of a case of false evidence u/ 192- 193 Indian Penal Code

11-Dec-2023 (In Family Law)
A year back, my wife registered a police complaint on me stating that I sent her threatening messages and that I was going to upload her pics, videos, etc. The police personnel initially abused me, ill-treated me, was about to arrest me. After some proper investigation they realized that the complaint was outright lie and then the police personnel, after giving her some advice, just closed the case as if nothing happened. I am 31 years old now and she is 25. It has been more than a year since she left me after a month of unconsummated marriage. Her family is demanding 7lakh for divorce as they know that I am getting older. I am wondering what would happen if I registered a complaint on her family members now on false/fabricated evidence IPC-192/193 How strong the case can be? Will the police personnel again ignore my complaint as if nothing happened?

Your apprehension is correct. The police may not act on your complaint. You may initiate divorce proceedings by sending your wife a legal notice first and then filing a petition in the family court. The other side cannot legally demand any such sum as a
precondition for dissolution of marriage. In the hearing you may cite the false complaint filed against you as an instance of mental torture.

You are totally confused and it seems you have consulted someone in this issue and just to cross verify you post this question. Be that as it may be you better file a RCR before the Family court and work out your remedy accordingly.
