In laws threatening me she is even using bad words abusing us

I am at maternal home due to my husband unemployment issues I said I would come only if he gets a job and my MIL is like a monster now she is threatening me to come home otherwise she said she would go to police and said they would call me and I should go . Is it even legal to do that? Isn't this a family issue how can police involve how should I proceed kindly please reply. Thank you.
