Can a marriage be performed in another city and register in another city in India?

What is the procedure of marriage performed before SDM or in the court?
Yes, under the Special Marriage Act, 1954 or Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, a marriage performed in one city can be registered in another where either spouse resides. Required documents: identity proof, address proof, birth proof, marriage proof (if applicable), photographs, and affidavits. The Procedure before SDM/Court: File notice, complete verification, publish objections (if any), and solemnize marriage. Under BNSS, 2023, false declarations may attract penalties. Legal verification is advised.

It can’t be registered in another city. Is this a special marriage act registration? Or Hindu marriage ceremony?Bcz if it’s a registered marriage only then you donot need further registration. You can contact through LAWRATO for further guidance.
