Change of fathers name on birth certificate

My cousin brother expired soon after delivery of his child. Now U am going to marry his widowed wife. I wish I could give my name as his child’s father on all records. Is this possible to replace my name as father?
Hello,
Since biological father of the child had died, mother has the right to give child in adoption. So after marrying with you, she can formally sign an adoption deed and through this deed, you can add your name in documents i.e. School documents, passport, etc. at the place of child's father. So right after marriage execute an adoption deed.
