can step son ask his share if the property is in step mother's name

28-Oct-2023 (In Family Law)

I have a step son from my husband earlier marriage whose first wife expired when my step son was 5. Now he is 30 years and married and i have two real daughters from my husband. My husband expired 2 years back leaving without a WILL, he had bought some properties in my name. Now my step son is asking me to give him his share as it was his father i.e. my husband who had bought it in my name. I want to know can he ask his share if the property is in my name only.

If the property is in your name, till the day you are alive you can write a Will in the name whom you want to give it later on. If the property was not in your name and the father had dies intestate (without a Will) they the son would had the right to claim his share in the property.
