Can I marry as per my choice can my brother take any action against us

Hi I am 28 year old female,working in a it comapny in mumbai.I like one of my friend from childhood and want to marry him.I tried to convince my family last so many years but they are not agreed.In the same matter my elder brother is torturing me from last so many years and now it has become worse.He use abusive language,he is telling wrong things about me to my parents also and then my parents are getting tensed and they are fighting with me.I haven' done anything wrong, till this age i am just waiting for them to accept my choice but doesn' seems like my brother would let me speak to them
In case both the girl and the boy is a major then no one can force you to not to marry each other. Once you choose to marry the boy of your choice, your brother cannot stop you from getting married. You can register your complaint against your brother of he tries to stop your marriage or threatens you.
