In Response to your Query that” After a quarrel at home my wife took cetrazine tablets and later I took her to the hospital, MLC was filled there. That night police took written statement of my wife that there was mental and physical abuse and the next day when wife was discharged from hospital, we went to the police station and there wife gave a written signed statement that she does not need any case/Fir filed. They took 10000 rupees. Will this affect my background verification process as I will join a new IT company for job? “ If your wife took back her complaint A single MLC (Medico-Legal Case) entry by itself does not automatically mean your background verification will fail. What matters is whether, an FIR was registered, any criminal case is pending, you were arrested or chargesheetor court proceedings exist. From what you described that Your wife later gave a signed statement that she did not want any case/FIR. There may be likely only a station diary/DD entry and MLC record. MLC records remain in hospital/police recordsAn MLC entry doesnot disappear merely because the wife later withdrew her complaint. Need to check some facts.
