Wife Harassing Me & Family After Leaving Home

29-Sep-2025 (In Divorce Law)
Wife left 2–3 months after marriage, stayed at her parents’ home. Blamed me without reason, asked for divorce. I called for a family meeting to decide peacefully. After 1 year, she returned and created daily problems., Abused me and my family; I have call/chat proof. One night she came knowing I was alone, so I left. She broke the lock and stayed in my fathers house. Even after I refused to continue marriage in meeting, she came back with her father and stayed again. What can I do?

Police Complaint: File a written complaint at your local police station about harassment, blackmail, or threats. General Diary (GD) / NCR Entry: In some states, you can at least record harassment in writing without an FIR, to keep a legal record. Injunction / Restraining Order: Court can prevent her from harassing or contacting you/family directly. Defamation case (if she spreads false allegations publicly). If she files false cases (like 498A IPC, Domestic Violence, or Dowry cases), you can: Apply for Anticipatory Bail to protect yourself and your family. Collect proof of her leaving voluntarily.

Dear Client based on your query, Since you have already expressed unwillingness to continue the marriage, you can file a petition for Divorce under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 on the grounds of cruelty. If your wife forcibly enters the house by breaking locks without your consent, you can also file a police complaint as well. For further detailed discussion feel free to connect with us.
