In the present situation, the practical course is to first enter into a written settlement with the wife, clearly mentioning the settlement amount, payment method and withdrawal of all cases. The agreed amount can be paid through Demand Drafts before the court, so that the wife confirms the settlement voluntarily. After the settlement is recorded, the parties should approach the High Court for quashing of the criminal case. Once the criminal case is quashed, the parties can then close the matrimonial dispute either by withdrawing the pending cases or by taking divorce by mutual consent as per the settlement.

85 BNS can only be settled in Lok Adalat if wife agrees to a settlement. Both cases can be settled simultaneously. However, my suggestion would be that both parties make a settlement agreement. on the basis of this agreement, even if the lok Adalat does not close the matter, you can approach the High Court for closure of pending FIR. should you have any queries please feel free to contact me

No you cannot close the case merely go in Loka Dalat all you have to make a settlement deed and you mention all the terms and condition of the settlement then you have to file a first first motion and second motion and then you can go for quashing petition then only your case will be quashed and disposed off

It can only be resolved in Lok Adalat if a mutual settlement has been arrived between the Parties. If the Parties are still acrimonious and no settlement could be reached then Lok Adalat settlement is difficult.

Sir you have to provide the details of your facts, complaints, allegations leveled against you. If FIR is registered then we have the remedy to approach Hon’ble High Court for quashing if the facts of your case falls in it.
