Who registers FIR, my area police station or CAW cell? ?

04-Mar-2023 (In Divorce Law)
I have filed dowry and domestic violence complaint to commissioner of police. It was referred to CAW women cell where i attended 4-5 dates. Now they have sent there report to ACP. I also attended a date in ACP office. How much time should it take from now to register FIR? Where would it be registered? CAW cell or police station in area where i live?

In case CAW cell has referred your case to the concerned ACP it means that he will give it to the IO to register an FIR. The FIR will be registered at the concerned police station where the report has been sent (where you live) It will take around a weeks time.

in case of CAW Cell, the Sections that would be applied are with respect to dowry and return of Stridhan. The Complaint filed by You in CAW cell itself will become the FIR and would be updated in the Police Station in the area where you reside. As regards registration of FIR, it should take about one or two hearings before the ACP (You can of course ask them to speed it up on account of non settlement).
