Apart from fees by Lawyer, what are other fees required for filing response to the DV case filed by the wife? like drafting petition fees, court fees and stamp duty etc? Can I get to see court-related fees online? 3. When Lawyer quotes his fees, does it include court fees/ stamp duty/ drafting petition etc? Do we need to make payment in check and ask for receipt? 4. What are the things that need to take care when making payment to Lawyer? Do lawyers give receipts for payment made to them? One of the lawyer I met asking for cash payment and when asked me receipt he says no lawyer gives any payment receipt to their customer? The lawyers fee is based on type of case and subject matter. Every matter is different so lawyers charge differently.
Lawyers also charge based on experience and skills, so cant give you a clear answer for this. You can look for general charges under court fee act but there is minimum fee scale given not max.

There is no standard mode of payment and receipt between client and representative lawyer at court or otherwise as it is all about the skill set of the individual lawyer.Majority of professionals have their own way to apply and ask for mode of payments but usually its bifurcated into two parts before filing and after filing of the case.It is completely as per the facts and skill set and urgency of matter resolution in the court along with unbiased approach of the individual lawyer who is representing the client as well. The online transfer or cash payment what so ever ethically and morally binds the lawyer to help the client resolve the issue in the court. If client is still not confident then you can directly ask the authenticity of the fees court stamp paper and other professional service charges from the lawyer as well. The relationship between the lawyer and the client should be very open , transparent and crstalclear as this is what will have your belief and faith in the representative lawyer. All respective cases mentioned by you Domestic violence,Divorce or child custody have appropriately Rs 1000 for filing along with stamp and courtfees but as its more of the ability and talent of lawyer ,his or her sincerity, dedication ,it varies from one lawyer to another. The client can explore more about his or her lawyer's approach also by asking him or her to show the kind of research and findings relative to your own facts and matter of the case.Best method would be ask and clear all the doubts on the table with your consultant or representative lawyer herself.
