What is the law for mutual divorce.

Me and my wife are planning to get separated. She is demanding 20 lakh in cash and 10 lakh as RD in my daughter's name. And her lawyer to that I need to pay 15 lakhs before we file divorce. I want to understand if I there are extorting money from me.

I suggest you to first appoint an advocate of your choice and try to negotiate with your wife with respect to permanent alimony and other compensation amount depending on your financial constrains. otherwise they might take an advantage.
