As an advocate, I must advise that if the individual is an adult and is communicating with your son, even without expressing a desire to return, her current location and willingness to reside there are primarily her own decisions, provided she is not under any form of illegal detention, coercion, or undue influence. Our legal system upholds the right to personal liberty, and unless there's concrete evidence of a crime, such as kidnapping, wrongful confinement, or a threat to her life, a court typically will not compel an adult to return against her will, even if it causes distress to the family. Your efforts should therefore focus on continued peaceful communication and, if genuinely concerned about her well-being or safety, consider discreetly verifying her circumstances through trusted channels, without resorting to any act that could be perceived as harassment or intimidation, which could lead to legal complications for your family.

If your wife is not willing to return despite your efforts, you may first consider sending her a formal notice requesting reconciliation. If she refuses, and you still wish to continue the marriage, you may seek the help of a local mediation centre or family counselling cell under the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA). However, if she does not respond positively and continues to stay away without valid reason, you may explore your legal remedies under Section 9 of the Hindu Marriage Act by filing a petition for Restitution of Conjugal Rights. This is a civil remedy and can be pursued through the Family Court. Please consult a local advocate to proceed appropriately.

As an advocate, It appears your client is seeking the return of an individual who is currently in contact with their son but unwilling to return. Under Indian law, if the individual is an adult, their decision to return is primarily based on their free will. The law does not generally compel an adult to return to a particular location or person against their wishes, unless there's a clear case of illegal detention, abduction, or a court order regarding custody (in case of a minor or a person declared unsound of mind). Therefore, while your client can continue to persuade her, legal avenues to force her return, absent the aforementioned circumstances, are extremely limited and likely unavailing.
