Show cause in mutual divorce case

Me and my husband had filed for mutual consent in june 2018. As he stays abroad, he couldnt come for the joint apperances and he would not be coming in future too. As per our case status, we hv a show cause on march 2019. what is show cause and is the presence of both parties mandatory. what can be the next step to get an early divorce . or do i have to file for a contested divorce?
for mutual divorce or 1 sides divorce both the parties presence is v much necessary . show cause is to show the reason of your not appearance before the court on the specific date fixed for you due to what cause you did not appear before the judge in court on fix date.
