Seeking advise regarding illegal custody transfer

23-Aug-2026 (In Divorce Law)
My wife abandoned our 15 year old daughter and dumped her on me after her father died this year January despite having her legal custody. I took her in because of her plight and thinking she would be okay with me and my mother as she was always in touch with her and would come over in weekends and on holidays. But after coming over to us her attitude towards us changed and she is being very difficult to manage and challenging and defying and being uncooperative. She now often blames me wrongly o

The mother, despite having custody of the minor daughter, ceased to provide her day-to-day care following the death of the maternal grandfather in January 2026 and brought/left the minor in the father's care. The father, considering the minor's circumstances and welfare, accepted responsibility for her and has since been providing her care and accommodation with the assistance of his mother. Subsequently, difficulties have arisen in the relationship between the father and the minor, including allegations made by the minor against the father and behavioural/non-cooperative issues. In these circumstances, the paramount consideration should remain the minor's welfare, safety, emotional stability and overall development, rather than the competing claims of either parent
