Reply to legal notice in cade of amicable settlement

25-May-2023 (In Divorce Law)
My husband sent a legal notice for mutual consent for divorce with some allegations, some of which I dont agree with. I want to know how to reply to the notice or what is the process for amicable settlement. If it is amicable settlement, what about the allegations made? Also, he has said that it must be replied to within 7 days. But there is some issue with that and I need more time. What should be done.

You can reply to the notice or choose not to reply and directly go for amicable settlement through mutual consent divorce provided you want to separate. The allegations made in the notice if false and defamatory, you can take appropriate action against him under civil and criminal laws.

Hindu Marriage Act, the parties to a marriage might file a petition for dissolution of marriage, by decree of divorce by mutual consent, on the ground that that they have been living separately for a period of one year or more, and that they have not been able to live together

there is no compulsion to reply within 7 days. and u can send a reply seeking more time to file detailed reply. and if u wish to settle amicably u can also do the same provided u both r on same page with regards to alimony as well as custody if u have child.
