While historical texts note polygamy, modern laws prioritize equality. Under the Constitution, Article 44 directs the state to secure a Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Implementing a UCC is the ideal way to resolve religious disparities in personal laws and ensure equal rights for all citizens.
