Is it valid to file seperate petition under section 26 of the Hindu marriage act without obtaining or filing for divorce??

Yes absolutely it is permissible to file for a petition for the child custody and maintenance even without obtaining divorce or even if the petition for seeking divorce has not been filed in the court.
