Parents Are On The Verge Of Forcing Me To Marry Someone Of Their Choic

02-Jul-2024 (In Divorce Law)
I am a 26yrs old female, Hindu. I'm in a relationship with someone (also Hindu) whom my parents don't approve. My family has been mentally torturing me, trying to defame my bf, forcing me to breakup. And they are also planning to get me married to someone else. Moving out is not possible for me till January 2025 because of some career related matter. Neither I want to file any case against them nor I want them to get arrested. How can law and Human Rights help me?

If you want the law to protect you and your relationship, you have to file a case against your parents. It can't be both ways. You should decide on your priorities and then take a step. As regards legal step, you may write a letter to the local police to protect you and your bf from the acts of your parents. If they don't take steps, then approach the High Court by filing a writ under Article 226.
