Need to give family maintenance ?

14-Jun-2024 (In Divorce Law)
I have my old age parents living with me and they are cancer and heart patients. My wife voluntarily went out of our home saying that she will not take of parents and she is now seeking for family maintenance and our children are living with me. Do I need to pay her family maintenance though she voluntarily went out and staying with her parents

hi Felix here, I can well understand your concern from the query raised, paying of maintenance changes from case to case, if your wife is earning or has not applied for a maintenance the you need not pay, but still you have a moral obligation towards your wife, but if your wife files for maintenance in the court of law, then you will be directed to pay, you can contact me for further clarifications, thank you
