A divorce procedure typically involves filing a petition with the court, serving the other party with a summons, attending court hearings, potentially going through mediation to reach agreements on asset division and child custody, and finally receiving a court decree finalizing the divorce

Under Indian law, a wife can seek maintenance before divorce under Section 125 CrPC or relevant personal laws. The court assesses both parties' financial situations to decide the amount. You should gather all financial evidence to present your case. Try for a mutual settlement if possible to save time and costs. If the demand seems unreasonable, I recommend contesting it in court with proper legal representation. Let me know if you need assistance in filing or defending this matter.

No wife can get alimony if she is earning and has sufficient income and unless there a court order to that effect She cannot ask for it before you can file divorce in the ground of cruelty File a case and maintenance order will be passed if she is not earning and has sufficient grounds for the same

Don’t fall into the prey and give any amount to your wife with reference to alimony. You both jointly or with the aid of lawyer finalise the broader terms for taking divorce, ( in case you both are on talking terms) and file a mutual consent divorce petition or else you can sent a legal notice to your wife thru a lawyer for divorce and call upon for amicable settlement
