My father is threatening me to take back my divorce case

I am 25 years old and a mother of 16months old. Me and my husband agreed for mutual consent divorce and i decided to leave my in laws house as well as my father's house because my father is so very dominat from beginning. He never let me take my decisions he is always full of anger and wants me to behave like a puppet even if I am an adult but there is no chance to continue this loveless marriage for me. I decided to stay separate with my kid but my father came here and created scene ,he threatened me , I asked police for help but my father used his power and money to influence the cops , so police instead of helping me adviced me to go back with my father. Iam not committing any crime , freedom is everyone's fundamental right, I just want to live my life on my own terms want to take care of my kid on my own, I don't want to stay under dominance anymore. Please help me what legal measures can i take against my father which will prohibit him to interfere in my life, I am an adult .
