Mental harrasment by Married Sister in Law

25-Oct-2023 (In Divorce Law)
My married sister in law has separated from her husband due to her character less nature. Now she is living with us in my father in laws house. Since she has come to live with us, she is mentally harassing me and my husband by playing dirty tricks and also by blackmailing us that she will commit suicide and blame me and my husband for no reason. She has been caught in illegitimate relation with different men . How should I tackle this problem legally or otherwise as it is not only affecting our mental peace but also leading us towards depression. Thank you

Greetings to you. The advices would vary depending basically upon what you want and whether your husband is on board with you or not. If he isn’t, then the advice would be based on you. With regards to the threaten that she will commit suicide and blame it upon you, You should get a properly drafted complaint mentioning everything and give a copy of it in your local police station apart from sending a copy of the same to the higher police officials. Your father in laws house being your matrimonial home, you may also file a case of domestic violence against your sister in law as per DV act. There are many things which you could do. If you require any further assistance, we can schedule consultations and I could guide you. Please do feel free to reach out to me for any further assistance. Regards

Your father in-law has to file a civil suit for her eviction from that house if that house is the self acquired property of his or comes under that category ! On the other hand you need to get an apprehension complaint drafted by an expert advocate regarding the threats by her ..b in touch
