What can I do about being mental abused and threaten from ex boyfriend when the cops won't do anything about it in my town

You may connect with a lawyer and seek detailed legal consultation for your issue. You may file an intallah peshbandi through your lawyer and also file a criminal complaint. Further also file a suit for injunction restraining him to approach you

If the police officials fails to entertain your complaint then you can always file an application under section 156(3) CrPC before the court according to your jurisdiction to register a FIR against the culprit.

If you are being mentally abused and threatened by your ex-boyfriend and the local police are not taking any action, there are several legal remedies available to you under Indian law to protect yourself and ensure your complaint is addressed 1. Collect and save all evidence of threats or harassment, such as text messages, call recordings, emails, social media posts, and witness accounts. 2. Approach a higher police authority in your district, such as DCP or Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP). Submit a detailed written complaint to them. 3. If the senior police officers also do not act, you can file an application before the Judicial Magistrate under Section 156(3) of the Criminal Procedure Code. 4. You can also approach the Women's Helpline (1091), the National Commission for Women.

Hi, You should ask a police officer to lodge FIR against him and if the cops of your respective district do not cooperate, you should definitely take help of a local advocate to get the FIR done and let the advocate make sure that relevant action against him is taken.
