Maintenance after mutual divorce
16-Oct-2024 (In Divorce Law)
Hi,
Can ex-wife ask more money after mutual divorce saying earlier money given during mutual divorce is less? The ex-wife has mentioned in agreement that what ever she is receiving is full and final settlement and will not file any cases.
Once a mutual divorce and settlement have been finalized and accepted by both parties, the ex-wife generally cannot claim additional maintenance or alimony.
However, there can be exceptions if there are significant changes in circumstances, such as a substantial change in the financial status of either party. In such cases, it might be possible to revisit the settlement, but this would typically require legal intervention and a court's approval.
