Is Mental and physical abuse from husband a ground for divorce

Ok it's for my Friend. She's married for 2 years now. She has experienced mental and physical abuse from her Husband. Now she is in Singapore studying(as an escape from her Husband) and is looking for a divorce and it is without her Husband's consent. And also she is Hindu and her Husband is Christian and it was kind of like a love marriage but little did she know about him and she's changed to Christianity from church but they got affidavit saying its willingly done. She is coming for vacation next month and wants to know how quick can it be obtained so that she can continue her studies without missing much. Hope to hear a reply soon. Thank you

a. Adultery
b. Cruelty
c. Desertion
d. Conversion of religion
e. Unsoundness of mind / serious mental disorder
f. Virulent and incurable form of leprosy of partner
g. Venereal and communicable disease suffered by a partner
h. Renunciation of the world
i. Unknown whereabouts of partner for more at least 7 years
What is time long to take complete the procedure
Usually, it may take up to 2 to 3 years or in some cases it may take more than that for granting the final decree.
Minimum period 6 months and maximum of 18 months’ time required to grant mutual divorce.

If the wife gets mental as well as physical harrassment from her husband and in laws definitely it is a good groud for divorce. You can file the divorce under section 10(x) 0f the Indian Divorce Act .
