Is husband to pay maintenence of child if he filing child custody appl

If husband filed child custody application in dv and Gnwc, the husband ready to look after the child is he has to pay child maintenance to wife? Why should husband has to pay child maintenence to wife? Why cant courts give child custody to father if wife asks child maintenance from husband?
Dear Sir,
Law is in favour of married women and children as such you have to pay the maintenance to the wife if she is unable to earn and also pay some maintenance to the children if they are residing in the custody of mother. The husband cannot avoid payment of maintenance as Indian Laws are framed like that.
