Is cancellation of marriage of marriage possible

Sir/Ma'am, I got married 2 years ago without the permission of my of my wife's parents. Later they said the get this marriage cancelled and we will remarry you in front of society. We got our marriage cancelled in Registrar's court in Ghaziabad. I have doubts that this proceeding and I want to know if this is valid and legal
Give proper details, as you haven't disclosed about marriage, whether it was Court marriage or it was according to hindu rituals. If it was registered marriage or according to hindu rituals, then only Court can be approached for divorce.

divorce can only be granted by court and there is no procedure for cancelling in the registrars office . Divorce can be taken only in accordance with the law contained in hindu marriage act . It can either be mutual or contested.

There is no concept of cancellation of marriage. Neither any other authority has power to cancel any marriage. only way to get a marriage disolve is by obtaining divorce decree from District Judge/ Family Judge.

Why are you cancelled your marriage at registrar's office? have you got the registration certificate before cancelling it? If no then girls parents don't do your marriage according to rituals in front of the society .Then you can again file application for your marriage and this time you can get your certificate then marry in front of nsociety.
