I am the joint owner Can I register property in my name after divorce

29-Jul-2023 (In Divorce Law)
Hello Sir , I had a mutual consent divorce and every formality has been done from both the parties. Even the decree has been provided now by the court. In petition it was also mentioned that either boy or girl has no demand on each other property. As my ex wife and there family were very nice people so they agreed on not demanding any financial thing. I have a flat on my name and my ex wife name . But she didn't wanted any share. It was also mentioned in the petition. She also given a affidavit for the same. Now as the flat is in both of our name, do I need to do any registration or others?

Hi, Sir as the flat is in joint name and in order to see that you are the absolute owner you have to get it registered, your wife has to execute a registered relinquishment deed stating that she relinquishes all her rights and interest in property and thereby you become the owner, please note that unless the deed is registered it will not be legal and you may face problems in future so get relinquishment deed executed from your wife. Thank u and good day
