Demanding dowry, harassing you for money/property, or subjecting you to cruelty is a serious offence under Indian law. You should not silently tolerate continued abuse or pressure. Immediately preserve all possible evidence: • WhatsApp chats/messages • Audio/video recordings • Bank transactions or demand proofs • Medical records, if any harassment/violence occurred • Names of witnesses You may take the following legal remedies: • Lodge a police complaint for dowry harassment and cruelty against the responsible persons • Initiate proceedings under the Domestic Violence Act seeking protection, residence rights, maintenance, and compensation • Seek return of your stridhan/gold/articles if retained by them If there is an immediate threat, intimidation, or physical violence, approach the nearest police station or women police cell without delay. Do not sign any documents or succumb to unlawful monetary demands under pressure. Proper legal action taken at the right stage can provide strong protection and relief.

Dowry harassment is a punishable offence you can take legal action immediately. File complaint for cruelty and harassment. Keep proof safely like messages, calls, bank transfers, witnesses, medical records, etc. Do not tolerate continuous harassment.
