A Since the High Court has already granted a stay, the lower court is bound by such order and ordinarily cannot proceed further or dispose of the case during the subsistence of the stay. Any compromise before the lower court (including Lok Adalat) cannot be validly recorded or acted upon unless: 1. The stay is vacated/modified by the High Court, or 2. Appropriate permission/direction is obtained from the High Court. If both parties are willing to settle, the proper course is to: Place the compromise before the High Court in the pending quash petition, and Seek quashing/disposal based on settlement. ⚖️ Closure of the case in the lower court within 2 days is legally not feasible while the stay is in force. The matter must be routed through the High Court.
