Hello! The chain and ring given to the husband is considered as dowry, if specifically demanded by him or his parents at the time of marriage. However, the jewellery given to the wife from the husband's side is considered as stridhan. Both the dowry and stridhan is wife's jewellery and she can claim it by filing appropriate petition in the court.

Jewelleries and articles given to groom or his parents and family from the brides side can be taken back by the wife. However what is given to the bride by the grooms side is considered as a streedhan and wife has a complete right on it.
