Your Criminal Case ase has already been registered on the basis of FIR before the concerned Magistrate. Now Police after doing the Investigation, will frame the Chargesheet and then accordingly based on the Chargesheet, Charges will be framed!

1. Time for Case Registration After Charge Sheet Filing: Once the police file a charge sheet in court under Section 498A, the court will take some time to review it. The duration can vary based on the court's schedule and workload, but generally, the case is registered and listed for a hearing in a few weeks. I recommend staying in touch with your advocate for updates, as they will monitor the progress. 2. Arrest Under Section 498A: Yes, under Section 498A, which deals with cruelty by a husband or his relatives, the police can arrest the accused parties without a warrant. However, recent guidelines from the Supreme Court encourage police to avoid immediate arrests in matrimonial disputes and try to settle matters amicably first. This is meant to prevent misuse of the law. But if there is strong evidence or the situation is serious, the police may proceed with an arrest. 3. Admissibility of Screenshots as Evidence: Screenshots and other electronic proofs, such as WhatsApp messages, emails, and photos, can be used as evidence in court. However, for them to be valid, they must be authenticated properly. If they are digital communications, it's essential to follow the process outlined in the Indian Evidence Act, including obtaining certifications under Section 65B to ensure the evidence is considered valid.
