Dv - number of chances to file objections

17-Feb-2026 (In Divorce Law)
I have filed DV against my husband. From last august they have been deflecting to attend court. In Jan they showed up saying they will file objections but did not turn up later. Judge said it's last chance and gave Feb date but even that is skipped saying they need more time. Judge agreed and gave another date, though my lawyer intimated it's last chance. How long will they be given time like this and prolong. It's been more than 9 months now. Please suggest.

This situation describes procedural delays common in legal proceedings, particularly in Domestic Violence (DV) cases in India, where the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act aims for disposal of cases within 60 days of the first hearing, though this timeline is often not met in practice.
