Good morning mam, if your husband has filed divorce on the ground of cruelty or any other grounds, he will have to prove his case. you must appear in the court to present your case and you can deny the allegations made by him in his case. court will also order your husband to pay you all the expenses incurred for contesting your case. if you don't appear to answer the case, court may pass one sided divorce decree.

You can appear through your counsel in the court and file reply to the divorce petition filed by your husband and can contest for dismissal of divorce petition. Your evidence should be strong enough which can help you to win the case.
