DIVORCE TRANSFER PETITION IN SUPREME COURT OF INDIA

I have filed divorce case in Punjab and my wife has filed transfer petition in supreme court I got notice from supreme court and hearing date was 24 aug, and i did not go and thought that case will be transferred to Haridwar but since then , Matter is not being taken up and case not transferred and new date is given. SEVEN dates and four months have passed. Now should i appear in court myself only then case will get transferred. Pls guide

You are not required to appear personally for the Supreme Court to decide the transfer petition, as it is typically handled through pleadings by advocates. However, delays may occur due to incomplete pleadings or procedural reasons. To expedite the matter, engage a Supreme Court advocate to file your reply (agreeing or opposing the transfer) and request urgent listing if needed. If you believe personal appearance will help, you can attend, but it’s not mandatory. The case will only be transferred once the court passes an order, so active participation through counsel is recommended.
