Divorce Question - 2nd Marriage in India - US Citizen

Hello, I am US Citizen, I got married to woman back in India in 2015. She came to US in 2018 but seems fell out of love or compatibility and marriage ended in divorce in US in 2018. If I want to remarry from India, do I need to update somewhere in Indian court that I got divorced in US mutually? Is my divorce decree from US valid in India?

Divorce in usa is valid in India but you should have to execute it in India by filing of execution suit on the basis of certified copy of judgment and without doing so your divorce has no force in India and you may be prosecuted for bigamy if you contracted second marriage.

Dear Sir If your marriage was registered in India, you either need to get the decree passed in favour of you by US courts, executed here in India or you need to file mutual divorce afresh in India, which would enable you to get married again in India. For assistance, you may consult me.

If you got married in India then you still need to take decree from India courts to do marriage in India. You need to hire expert advocate in this regard to execute the process. Kindly b in touch to understand the process

Dear client In case your spouse had participated in the IS divorce proceedings and agreed to a mutual divorce, the decree will be valid in India (grounds taken will have to considered). Another petition is not required to be moved
