Court marriage called off a day before the date and before the weddi

I got engaged to this girl on June 2016 and the marriage date was December 2017, in between gifts were exchanged I don't live in India and I've made trips to India, I was in a financial glitch and the girl helped me with some amount of money, but the girl called the wedding off a day before the court marriage cd happen, am I obligated to pay the money to her as I've incurred losses as well and they called the wedding off saying it was a forced marriage where it wasn't it was a mutual concern,
If the girl paid you through online transfer or cheque there will be proof of her payment and she has options to file complaint against you. However since marriage called off by her try and settle the matter mutually or wait ana watch , what action she takes to get her money back and then reply accordingly.

Hi it is not obligation to give money back to her even if the marriage is call off on last min, but if she ask through court and if she has any proof than you have give her back the amount if don't want to give you can file case in court for insolvency.
