01-Feb-2026 (In Divorce Law)
Sir I had applied for divorce on base of cruelty and dissurtion. Three years has passed. But no progress in my case. So I had search a lady for remarriage. Her divorce case is also pending. She is ready to live with me in live in relationship. I am working in Dubai. So please guide what will be perfect for me. Thanks.

Hello, In this situation, you may live with the other person, but you cannot legally marry unless both parties are eligible to do so. As you are both already married, you cannot remarry until your existing marriages are legally dissolved.

Since your divorce case is still pending, you are legally still married. Under Indian law, you cannot remarry or live in a marriage-like relationship till a final decree of divorce is passed by the court.

It’s still better to fast track the divorce and then move on with the live-in relationship. Your ex wife can create difficulties in the court if she gets to know about your new relationship. First finalise the divorce and then take a move with the new relationship. I know it’s harsh but just to avoid legal complications, would be even better if you can keep it super private. No social media posts, no gossiping about the same in social, friends or family circles.
