Hi
If the contents of affidavit in a divorce proceedings are proven false, then the other spouse can file for perjury.
It is highly unlikely that the courts might award compensation for defamation in matrimonial case.

Hi,

Yes. You can definitely file a defamation suit (Suit for damages) in a civil court and claim damages after the divorce case is disposed off. However, before filing the suit for damages, make sure that you are armed with all the evidences against your spouse establishing defamation against you in the eyes of society and diminishing your reputation in the society. However, huge compensation is very hard to get in suit for damages. Engage a competent senior civil lawyer for the case.
