Can my mother get alimony from her in laws?
07-Dec-2024 (In Divorce Law)
My dad abuses me, my brother, and my mom financially, emotionally, and verbally. He has also physically assaulted my mom. For years, he didn’t let her work, though she started earning later. His abusive mother manipulated him into giving away his property and took all his savings. He refuses treatment, wants to quit his job, and blames us for his issues. My mom wants a divorce and alimony. Can we press charges against his mom and get maintenance from his family if he’s declared unfit?
Well, you can certainly file a DV Case along with E-FIR against your Dad and his Mom, both of whom have been continuosly harrassing you, torturing you and have made life of you and your Mom, your Brother a living hell. You can seek Maintenance for your Mom and Child Support for you and your Brother from your Father as well.
