Hello! Yes you can definitely ask for more time if it’s a Mutual Divorce. Furthermore, It being mutual, you can mention your terms and conditions for the same. I handle family cases, I have 3 years of experience in the field. Feel free to reach out to me for any more information. I can handle your case as well, if you haven’t found a lawyer yet.

Yes. If your wife has filed a petition for Mutual Consent Divorce (MCD) and you need additional time, you may request the Family Court to adjourn the matter by stating genuine reasons. Since mutual consent requires the free consent of both parties at every stage, you cannot be compelled to proceed if you are not ready. If you need about 8 months to reconsider or settle related issues, inform the Court through your advocate and seek an appropriate adjournment. The Court may grant reasonable time depending on the facts and circumstances of the case.

Yes, you may request more time, but in a mutual consent divorce both spouses must agree. The court may grant adjournment if justified. If consent is withdrawn, MCD cannot proceed as per the concerned provisions of law.
